The Basjoo banana is also known as the Japanese fibre banana. It is cold hardy and survives down to -20 C when heavily mulched around its base and underground corm. Large graceful leaves up to 4 - 5 m in height. Beautiful specimen plants. The fruit are small and seedy, but edible once seeds removed.
